Keepa browser extension (free tier) — on any Amazon product page it shows the sales-rank history chart. Rank falling over months = demand rising. Also shows review-count history and when the listing launched (that's your "months on Amazon").
Helium 10 free plan — the Xray Chrome extension gives limited free uses per day with revenue estimates. Use them on your best candidates.
Amazon itself — "Date First Available" on the listing = age. Review count is right there. "New Releases" and "Movers & Shakers" pages = where new rising products hide.
Revenue estimate fallback — units/month ≈ what free Xray shows; revenue = units × price. Treat all estimates as rough (±30%).
How the grading works
Growth is king (40%) — revenue up 50%+ over 3 months = strong demand signal.
Low reviews (25%) — under 50 = room to compete; under 20 = wide open.
Real revenue (20%) — $5k+/mo proves demand exists; under $2k = too small.
Freshness (15%) — under 6 months = the trend is young; over 18 months with few reviews = red flag, something's wrong with the niche.
Penalties: 4+ sellers (price war risk), rating under 4.0 (product problems), rating over 4.8 with tiny review count (fake-review pattern).
Reality checks before you spend money
Estimates are estimates — verify any A-grade with Keepa's actual rank history before sourcing.
Check who else sells it: if Amazon itself is a seller, walk away.
New + low reviews + high revenue sometimes = one viral TikTok — check if growth is steady or one spike.
Factor ALL costs: product + shipping + Amazon's ~15% + FBA fees (~$5-8/unit) + returns. Revenue is not profit.
